My GPA is horrible, especially 9/10th grade, but got straight A in junior year. =)
Will colleges consider my improvement? I came to U.S. in 8th grade. no more ESL after 9th grade.

Thanks!! and what should i do to improve myself? =) thank you!

apply ED…without FA…good to go!!

RD more of a chance of waitlist…

we are low income. =(

Demographics may help you in that area…especially if you are asian…good luck!!

consider Vandy ED – it’s no loan.

I wouldn’t risk ED anywhere if you’re low income

Ahh, that’s where I disagree with other parents on cc. If a family has completed the finaid calculators properly, and the PROFILE efc is known, then applying to a no-loan school like Vandy (or Dartmouth) is a win – 100% grants (plus work study and/or summer earnings).

btw: Vandy is seeking more diversity.

I disagree with some others here- I think you have extremely good chances at Emory regular decision if you continue the upward trend in GPA. And great scores. Suggestions: visit and fill out the lobby card that says you visited, get a high GPA your senior year.

I think you have a good chance. I also came here in 8th grade and got out of ESL in 2 months. I had similar stats as yours, went to a nationally recognized school (top 30), and had good essays. The only difference is that I played a lot of sports (scholar athlete 2 years in a row), served as the captain&president of sports teams and clubs, and research publications. Good luck!

i don’t play sports, music instrument, choir, neither officer of the clubs…
and I have extremely low GPA, especially sophomore year, AAABBC+2honors……really bad i live in CA.

apply ED. I know soo many people that got in through ED.

yah, dude apply ed to vandy…and if you can’t afford the cost, just back out of it, they can’t MAKE you go if you can’t afford it…
