Currently I am a junior in high school, but I took my SAT in September. I plan to take it again as this time was without studying, just to test the waters. I will include my senior course load as well. I plan to major in microbiology.
SAT: 2200
ACT: plan to take in February
SAT Subject Tests: I will take biology (m) and literature
AP Courses: AP Human Geography (5) AP world history (4) AP Lang and Comp (5)
Those were my underclassman AP Classes. This year, I am taking the following and expect 5s on all but US History.
AP US HISTORY
AP Literature and Comp
AP Calculus AB
AP Biology
Senior year:
AP SPANISH
AP GOVERNMENT
AP MACROECONOMICS
AP MUSIC THEORY
AP ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
AP STATS
Other honors courses where taken in between these AP Classes.
My GPA is a 4.66 currently, 3.9 unweighted. This year this will increase exponentially.
Rank: 10/551
ECs: AMC Team member, treasurer of key club, interact, Vice President of Mu Alpha Theta, rho kappa, FBLA, secretary of spanish national honor society, NHS, tri-m, science national honor society, chorus (four years in advanced ensemble, section leader two years), colorguard/winter guard (we are world class for those of you who are in on the WGI circuit)
Service: volunteered two summers at the clearwater marine aquarium (where dolphin tale was filmed and based off of) over 200+ hours of service for my church and service clubs
Essays: I am a very strong writer. Shouldn't be a problem.
Recommendations: will be mediocre at best, because of large class sizes, don't know my counselor too well.
Thanks!

What are my chances, 4.12 weighted GPA on 4.0 scale, with AP classes… I am the top 6% in my class 25 out of 389 and 28 on act and extracurriculars, great recommendations and essay…Help Pleasee
@Hilary918 Your SAT is right in Emory’s wheelhouse and clearly your ECs are no slouch either. I’d say if the essays hold up you are in good shape.
@nyknicklover100 Your ACT is a little low, but not catastrophically so. If you have excellent essays and recommendations you stand a chance but I’d still call it a mid/low reach if your ECs can pick up the slack.
