Perhaps I was wrong in insinuating that Emory was ‘racist’ for releasing decisions this way, but if they are going to release them for URMs, that means they’ve made all their decisions, so why can’t they just release them for everyone? I understand that they have special weekends for URMs which is great but if the decisions are made why must they torture non-URMs for another 8 days?

Kp- I’m going to the admissions office tonight so I’ll be sure to ask but I suspect that they actually are not finished evaluating all applications. They were working up to the deadline on the URMs yesterday and then they have to check the list 3 times over to make sure they don’t send the wrong notification to someone. It’s not the most organized process in the world. I see what you’re saying and how it feels unfair but I’m simply saying that they mayyyyy not be finished with all of the applications. It’s hard to say.

^can you ask why not all URMs were notified. Are they only inviting some URMs to the weekend. Us it safe to assume that if we are a URM and didn’t receive a decision the we’ll be rejected?

I am an african-american and i was not notified on this early date. however a class mate recieved a decision any insight into this. she ia also african-american.

I am not allowed to speak on behalf of the Office of Admission but I can say that only those who were accepted were notified yesterday, no rejections went out yesterday… so judging by that…
