My parents are hoping that I’ll apply to Emory early decision, and I just wanted to know my chances of getting in.

Anticipated Major: Poly Sci.

GPA: (4.0 UW / 98 Avg)
Rank: 3/310
SAT1: 2160 (700-690-770, 11 Essay)
SAT2: Yet to take
Course Rigor: Will graduate with 8 honors classes & 7 APs.
AP Scores: (5) in APWORLD

Debate Team Captain (10th-12th grade)
Academic Team Captain (9th-12th grade)
Beta Club VP (10th-12th grade)
National Honor Society (11-12)
International Festival (11-12)
Senate Campaign Volunteer
HS Science Olympiad (10th-12), MS Science Olympiad Captain (9th)
Volunteer Tutor (11th-12)
Yearbook (12th)
And a few less major ECs

I have some small and average level awards with state level or school level recognition, but nothing nationally.

Essay & Recs: Both will be good
Hooks: Black Male (?) (Not sure if this matters for Emory)

I think you have an incredibly good chance- but I wouldn’t apply ED if I were you. You can probably get into better schools, and can also make Emory RD. Retake the SAT and get above a 2200 and I think you would actually be a solid HYPS candidate.
