@NeuroDude yeah even this close to emory my school only had three applicants, myself, and two of my good friends (one is applying just for a shot at scholars and a full ride and the other just RD)
@ismitah it’s just not known as much as many of its rival schools. It is both unfortunate and fortunate because in the long run, it’s less competition.
I’m from Chicago! 9 people from my school submitted before the early desicion deadline but I’m not sure if all were Ed.
@jbart25 @NeuroDude I think another reason people apply less to emory is that more and more people are wanting to get their college application process done early and many people might like emory, but don’t want to commit ED. And then if they do EA in other schools they might have their mind made on where they are going before the RD deadline.
@bernie12 you wanna know something that astonishes me? Why doesn’t everyone check the box for scholars? It’s literally just checking one box and at least it gives you a chance at being a scholar versus the zero chance if you don’t even apply in the first place. When I visited, the counselors told me that not everyone checks the box to be considered. That just amazes me…
I wonder if OPUS will be locked in preparation for decisions…?
Help! I just checked my OPUS just because I could (I know that the decisions won’t be released until the 15th unless they say something, but I’m just crazy 
) and it said on my checklist that they didn’t have my application fee. This is the first time this showed up on my account (everything else was previously accounted for as of last week or so) and I definitely paid it when I submitted by common app. I don’t think it’s even possible to submit the common app without paying. Does anyone else have this on their account and what should I do?

@NeuroDude : Oh, okay…yeah, I’ve had friends from Rochester for example (is that considered upstate NY?) but not that many. I’m thinking that is kind of an untapped market. Too much effort goes to NYC and cities within the “megalopolis” of that part of the country.
