Emory ED1/ED2 Class of 2022

Sorry, my computer glitched out. Didn’t mean to send the same thing twice. Oops.

@snavea
Did you apply ED2?
Are you being recruited for piano?

Quick question for anyone who goes to Emory who sees this - can Oxford students join Emory College clubs?

@madison417 Yes if you can handle the commute.

On my transcript, my math courses (All APs/Honors) have pretty bad grades (like 83-90).

However my ECs are largely business orientated (Marketing company, Head of marketing for yearbook, DECA Officer etc). My Common App essay talks about how my identity of being both gay and indian allowed me to create a bollywood high school national dance comp (it sounds weird but bear i explained it).

Should I put business as my intended path or gender, sexuality studies. I def want to study both at Emory if i get admission but which one do u think matches me best

@gethypeboys : Huh? What do you mean “matches you”? That doesn’t make any sense. Only you can decide that. Maybe put undecided or something and let your essays do the talking about your academic interests. What you mark for that field is ultra irrelevant.

@skieurope
Can you pin this thread in the Emory forum?

@skieurope I echo VANDEMORY1342’s request to pin this thread. Happy New Year and thanks for the work you’ve done for this forum.

Done.

@emorybengali
You can only apply to one school ED2. The rest must be RD. If the others schools find out you apply to ED2 they would receind your application. Also Bengali is not URM. The only" hook" you seem to have is that you are low income.
All that said Emory is a Reach for you. Your GPA and ACT are on the lower end of the spectrum.

is mcgill a reach also and thank you for your post it is very helpful!

My SAT scores make Emory a reach for me, I didn’t even make it to the 1100‘s.

@Intelligent08 same! congrats! I am excited.

@VANDEMORY1342 : Move tech to the reach/high reach column. Lately it has used its migration to become a stats whore. A 1350 puts this person at a disadvantage even if in state. Their chances may be equal to or lower than Emory actually. However the class rank percentile may really kill them for Emory. Either way, I would say that Tech is at least a reach.

Hi can anyone chance me for Emory/Oxford RD? @VANDEMORY1342

I applied for Emory scholars RD.

@lm1999 Have you contacted the basketball coaches at both Emory and Oxford? If not, I would… if you are a recruited athlete, I’d say a match otherwise a reach
