my commonapp essay was pretty good but my "why emory" was excellent
recs were excellent

GPA could hurt, otherwise high match-low reach http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/622129-read-all-harvard-applicants-might-give-you-hope.html

im in same boat for ED II but my SATs r lower

I say 90% in.

Reasons:

IB! I know Emory likes IB kids

ED!

ECs are amazing (imo)! Sports is a HUGE plus. If you want to continue swimming, contact the Emory Swim coach for brownie points.

GPA is low, but it's IB. As an IB student, I think you still have a chance :)

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/631103-chance-ivies-other-good-schools.html

yeah thanks! i've actually been talking to the swim and track coaches so i hope they can give my app some support.
anyone else? :)

bbuummpp!!

High match at Emory, because of ED, athletic accomplishment, good EC's, and your somewhat low GPA is offset by the fact that you took the hardest course load at your school.

Chance me please! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/621725-took-risk-blew-any-hope-left.html

thanks you guys are really bringing up my spirits!

bbuummpp !

double bump

buuump mee

should be in...chance me back!!!

oh btw my GPA is now 3.51 bc i had a lot of improvement first semester senior year. anyone else?

Did you show interest in the school? Like emailing them, requesting info, etc? That's important to Emory, with your stats you should be ok (your uw is a little low), but the level of interest is what puts you over the top.

i have met w the assistant dean of admissions and the track coach (im a recruit), i also recently visited the campus and sat in on a class.
