Yea so does anyone know if it is acceptable if my emory supplement is around 300-400 words in length even though it is over the 250 word limit. I've heard that some schools are lenient about the word limit, but i am not sure about Emory. There is just too much that I want to say about what I like about Emory to fit into 250 words.

I tried contacting admissions office but they aren't back from break until the 3rd

Mine was 314 if I remember correctly. I would really try to keep it under 350, 400+ to me seems to be stretching it. I think you should be fine as long as it’s not 400+, but still try to keep it under 300, by removing words/sentence that don’t really contribute to your message.

unless the essay is absolutely amazing with lots of originality, I wouldn’t go over the 250 limit. While the essay is important, make sure you can check as many boxes as you can in the contact with emory section on the supp. my essay was not that great/original but it was under 250 and I had 12 boxes checked on that section

actually, you can use it for oxford too as long as everything you said was true for oxford as well. I used the exact why emory essay( with a few minor changes )for my why oxford essay. just make sure you change the names…

LOL, anyways i got a reply from admissions officer: “it’s ok if the essay is around 300 words; you may need to trim it down if it’s closer to 400. Good luck!”
