<p>Congrats to wintercake21, BrownsFan11, pacers31, and especially emoryguy980! You’ll all be there with my D, who can’t believe I spend so much time on this site, but I’ve found a lot of useful information.</p>
<p>For jcv2011, bestmemories2015, emorywaiting, 1081736 and ordinary student – hang in there. Keep your phones on and pick up any calls from 404 area code. Emory clearly is using the waitlist and I hope all of you get in. Remember when they call and ask if you would go if accepted, the answer is YES YES YES. Don’t say “I really have to see the school again” or “it depends on what I hear from XYZ school.”</p>

<p>I think the WL is just as much of a crapshoot as regular admissions. From what I’ve read, the mindset is to replace kids who don’t accept with kids of a similar profile, academically, geographically, and maybe athletically. For D, a boy at her school who’d been accepted chose to go to Davidson instead. Her stats were the same (or better) than his; she did the same sport he did; their ECs were very similar. So if I was an adcom, I’d see it as replacing him with her. They’re not taking another NYer – they’re simply replacing one they already admitted.</p>

<p>I really want to hang in there and be optimistic but I feel like I have no dice on both oxford and emory … the chance is only 5% and my stats arent even the most amazing out there.</p>

<p>I got a call Friday at around 2 30 PM EST, and internationals do get emails. THANKS SO MUCH classof2015, if your daughter runs cross country then I will probably see her!</p>
