iam a junior in md(african american) . im in the IB diploma (really hard classes 11th and 12th grade). i didnt do so well in 9 and 10 grade not because it was hard but rather cause i didn't understand the importance till now.
freshman- 2.28
sophmore-2.71
I have good grades right now(like 3.75), if i were to continue with a 3.75+ for the next two years and get great recs. and great act scores(31+) and essay and join many clubs this year do i have a chance at Emory (does the turn around count for anything). Its a reach but what should i do to make it less of a reach. By the way I have 450 volunteering hours. Probably going to Africa next summer to help the sick and the poor. O i wanted to do premed at Emory.

That's like a 3.2 GPA. You'd have no shot at Emory with that. Maybe ED to Oxford, but not in at Emory.

apply to BU as a safety (jk, just tryin toget jpod to flip out)

We have a sorta similar situation, I had lower grades freshman and soph year too, because I didn't understand the importance of them. My counselor advised that in the part of the application where it says "additional comments" that I incclude a written explanation of why my grades were low, how I have a strong academic drive now, etc
I would aim higher than a 31 also.

Even if you had maintained a 3.75 all four years you would have trouble getting into Emory. I'm not sure how much you can do now to improve your chances.
