Emory Housing

So I think I’m going to apply for the Citizenship program. Is it competitive/hard to get in to?

And does anyone know if the Global Cultures program will be housed in Longstreet-Means next year?

Matt

I know many people want newest dorm

All the dorms have good locations like doryphorus said except for Harris. Harris will be the only freshman dorm next year that will be on the edge of campus (by the library and b-school).

Is it possible for freshmen to have single rooms? It seems like the newly built dorm just for freshmen has few single rooms, and I wonder for whom they exist.

Yes, freshman can have single rooms but there are very few. I know Harris hall also has singles. I think people with disabilities get dibbs on those.

apply for New Turman’s Citizenship Hall!

One more week guys!

I got Harris :D

Does anyone know anything about Dobbs Hall?

Mcteyire. Never heard of it lol. To be fair I haven’t heard of ant

Barely anyone got Few this year, or they just didn’t post on the facebook page.

@Matt: Dobbs is at a great central location but its rooms are pretty small and the building is fairly old. I heard that its more social than a lot of other dorms which compensates for its small rooms.

I got Evans and I haven’t heard of anyone who’s gotten Few.

Few and Evans are great dorms.

I got Evans too! Whooo

Mcteyire=lame. Hot and smells, narrow hallways. Eyesore of that vicinity. Trust me. I had a friend living there. It’s also in a location bound to inspire envy as it is essentially adjacent by Longstreet-Means, Turman, and Fevans, and eventually the construction site of another new freshman dorm (to start later this year. apparently will be about the size of ).

Several posts from year 2009 and 2008 says Dobbs…sucks.

Those rooms are like Tech dorms. Really small. However, the parlor is kind of nice, but overall, it’s not that great either. Ideally, a person placed in an older dorm should aim for complex, but now that’s for sophomores, so I guess Harris finishes second It has a decent parlor, Complex-like computer lab, and couple of legit study rooms, but the hallways are very dim due to the lame lights (that’s the most annoying thing about Harris that is normally made fun of at songfest  ).

I got Harris.

I lived in McTyeire last year and it wasn’t that bad. The A/C/ heater can be a problem, because it doesn’t kick in on time. On the plus side, it had the biggest rooms of any of the dorms, it’s in a really nice location, and for the most part you’ll know the people on your floor, even if you’re not exactly friends with them. But, the bathrooms were way too small, and because it’s old, it smells weird.

As for the people who are in Dobbs, I’m sorry, haha.

Seems like the rooms in Complex are about the same size, perhaps slightly larger. The McTyeire dorms seemed similar to size of my room in Woodruff last year.
