Okay... I was just offered, I guess because everyone in my city was.
But has anyone ever done an interview with Emory alumni?

I'm SO worried. I'm not good with talking AT ALL.
I am worrying that they might ask me about current events (though it says they won't) and just overall because I'm not a good speaker...

Does any one have tips/feedback/experience? Anything would be appreciated.
I'm just freaking out!

Just don’t do the interview. It’s not required, as it’s not offered in every city. If you look on the Admission website, it clearly states that not doing an interview has ZERO negative implication on your application.

On the other hand, the alumni interviews aren’t meant to be scary. It’s just a way for you to learn more about Emory and for you to get another voice to vouch for you. If you do decide to go through with one, realize that Emory alumni aren’t scary - we’re not gatekeepers, we’re not admission counselors, we’re not your teachers. We want you to get into Emory and want you to matriculate, if you decide that it’s the best place for you.

I promise, it’s not as scary as you think it will be. (Though, it’s also probably good practice - you’re going to have to interview for jobs some day, so you might as well have a high pressure interview under your belt).

That’s all assuming they’re still optional, which I thought was the case. If I’m wrong, someone will surely correct me (please do). All my other advice stands, though… they’re not bad at all!

I doubt the interview is a big deal. I didn’t even have one when I applied. I think that Emory is looking more for students with high SATs and GPAs because they want to raise their admission statistics to stay in the top 20 on USNWR.
