Emory OPUS Account (for Scholarship applicants)

Hey guys,

I applied to Emory last Tuesday since I was applying for the scholarship programme but I still haven’t received an OPUS account. I have already called the admissions office and checked that they have received the material. Could the account come after the 11/15 deadline?

I applied a few days ago and haven’t heard anything either! Hopefully we will get an account in the next few days. I wouldn’t worry though, usually colleges are pretty forgiving if you did everything right on your end.

The account definitely comes after the deadline, so you shouldn’t worry.

Hey guys!
I applied October 6th and didnt get an account until 3 weeks later. It will take some time but be patient. I actually just got the notification to set mine up through email but of you guys to OPUS and keep putting in your info one day it’ll work, it happened to me.

Thanks for the replies guys

Received the account a few days ago but noticed some of the documents were marked as missing despite having submitted them on time. Is it normal for Emory to take a long time to process these documents?

@nerdking yes it’s completely normal. They have thousands of docs coming in a short period of time. It will take a while for them to connect it all to the accounts. The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to have patience and make sure everything is right on your part. I make sure I’ve done everything correctly by keeping email receipts that are time stamps. For example, I am an ED1 applicant and an Emory Scholars applicant and on my to do list my CSS profile for fin aid is not received yet and it’s past the deadline. I checked my email and looked at the time stamp the college board sent for when they sent the report and then emailed the office of fin aid that I have completed it and asked if they would like me to send it again. I usually don’t send an email because it gets resolved fairly quickly but it was financial aid so I didn’t take a chance.
Don’t worry, it’ll all get processed.
And a question, are you an ED1 applicant as well or RD with scholars?
If you are RD your docs might be processed later bc they are trying to push ED1 first (our decision is in 22 days)

@nerdking emory just replied to me and told me that they’ve received all of my docs for fin aid but they will be uploaded mid December for me to see on opus. I’m guessing they have the same sort of process for scholars kids.
