Any thoughts? Pros and Cons? I've been accepted both, and they've always fought for spot #1. Also, I want to major in either BioMed Engineering or Neuroscience.

I wish I was in your position…I was rejected from Brown but got into Emory. I hated Emory…

I would choose Brown over any school in a heart beat.

:( Aw, I’m sorry. What is you reasoning?

idk. It’s in such an awesome place! Like right near Boston. It’s BROWN right? Like its a really cool Ivy league. It’s even more selective than MIT!

I think another really famous celebrity like Emma Watson was going this year to Brown. I really really am sad (but happy for you!) that I didn’t get in and now I’m stuck with Emory…

Emma Watson just dropped out of Brown, so forget that. 2. Brown’s curriculum is notoriously unstructured. 3. Brown has an extremely low job placement rate after undergrad, though that wouldn’t be as important if you plan on attending grad school. Food for thought. Which one’s cheaper?

My sister goes to Brown and I take classes at Emory as a Joint Enrolled student I hope this helps a little. Good luck with everything!

Brown over Emory:
-Open Curriculm
-WAY LESS COMPETITIVE. (I take classes at Emory University as a Joint Enrolled student, and believe me, the classes and people are very competitive and cut throat) My sister is at Brown and she told me that at Brown, everyone helps everyone and theres not alot of stress about who got this correct, or who is still on the pre-med track.
-At Emory, it seems as if everyone is pre-med. Brown has more diversity in major and interests. This is basically because Brown has the open curriculm that fosters learning.
-Emory has SOOOO many general education requirements. It’s a little ridiculous. I know Juniors at Emory that haven’t started on doing classes towards their major because they have to do so much go gen ed. At Brown, it is way more flexible and more time to explore what you truly are interested in, not just what you HAVE to take to graduate.
-I actually like the people at Brown better (thats just my opinion though).
-Fous on undergraduate study. Being with professors, they seem to be more focused on their research work rather than teaching students

Emory over Brown
-Very difficult academically. I think it is quite harder than Brown. Many people struggle at times.
-Weather. Even though this doesn’t seem too important, it kinda is. LOL (:
-Their financial aid is not as good as Brown. I don’t know what you have recieved from both, but I’m just speaking from experience.

They are both very good schools. I know prestige is not important, but Brown is, afterall, an Ivy-Leauge. I am African American as well and I feel as though Brown would be the better fit. Brown has plenty of support and programs for minorities and its a great environment. I’m not saying that Emory doesn’t but Brown just caters more to us. (;
Good luck on everything! and congrats on all your accomplishments :D

I would go to Brown. Its the better school and you’ll love it there.
