Emory or Cornell

Need help with this decision. Money is no issue since my dad is a head executive with Goldman Sachs. Leaning towards Emory because of weather. Need Help!!!

Thanks for the unnecessary addition of your dad’s job description, but what are you planning on majoring in, and obviously weather is important, but do you want to do greek life, have a larger or smaller class, and what about proximity to where home is.

I was considering both schools as well. I loved Emory but it’s much further away and the students are of a different type. Everyone seemed nice there and the campus was beautiful but in the end I chose Cornell. For me it’s a lot closer to home, it’s a beautiful place, has a great college town, many more classes to take, a much wider variety of students and opportunities, and better job placement/name (while the whole ivy league thing might not be as huge to people anymore Emory isn’t yet recognized very well outside of the south). Emory is an incredible place and it was the toughest decision of my life to turn them down. I know I would have been happy there but I know that I made the right choice in deciding on Cornell.

Tell your dad you want to attend the alma mater of Stephen Friedman, Bob Katz, Don Opatrny, Mike Rantz, Abby Joseph Cohen, Rick Sherlund, Bob Harrison, and dozens of others of his current or former partners or Managing Directors.

here’s an idea: have you visited Emory? take the GS private plane and visit and see for yourself; they are two VERY different schools…

Personally, I like Cornell better than Emory, but I think you need to see where you fit in better. I am sort of used to harsh winter weather, but would like to live in the Northeast for a while. I agree with other posters, depends on what you want to study.

funny that you say money isn’t an issue, since you’ve posted a lot of threads asking about financial aid and scholarships? hmm

don’t need more of your type at my school

Depends on what you want to do, but overall I’d say Cornell is definitely better.

Go to Emory.

Please.
