Emory. More prestigous, private university. Its ranked higher, has WAY less student population, is harder to get into, and isnt freezing year round!

Pre-Med track is also very strong @ Emory. Business school is top-rated if your interested in that or you can do Economics which is part of the liberal arts program of Emory College.

Michigan was one of the first schools I applied to and I think its a great school, but its just too big and I like the feel of a smaller, more intimate setting.

I'd really go to UMichigan and it does seem that Michigan is a better fit..
Emory is NOT a major research university. Infact its more of a liberal arts school than most universities of its calibre.
Umichigan has TREMENDOUS research opportunites if thats what you're into and also has arguably a top 10 economics program. Econ majors at Um are consistently hired by top banks and i cant really say the same for Emory
Atlanta is a cool city but is really not as great a college town as Ann Arbor
Since you're international, UM is far more prestigious than Emory abroad.

Why dont you ask that Alexandre person on the UM boards. He'll give you better answers than any of us

I want to go to Emory because its smaller and more tight knit and I think I would be absolutely overwhelmed by Michigan's size.
But then again, there's research opportunities and prestige (which plays a role since I am an international student)...

To say that Emory isn't a major research University is just wrong. Here is the list for the rankings of research funding from the NIH. You can find the link to the spreadsheet here: Award Trends

Michigan received 975 grants totaling $386,027,410.

Michigan has 5x the UG population, and because of its size, most of the UG have no access to research with star professors. At Emory that isn't the case.
