Rejected to Emory, Waitlisted to Oxford. I’m shocked to even be waitlisted to be honest!
My D has similar stats to yours, but denied. Good luck for waitlist.
Daughter accepted to Emory. She didn’t apply to Oxford.
Sorry to hear that! I’m super disappointed even on the waitlist!
I got accepted to Oxford to transfer into Emory after 2 years. Applied as a neurobiology major from OOS and did not submit any standardized test scores. congrats to everyone who got in!
Son was accepted! Tough choices ahead…
What were his stats?
Son was accepted to Oxford, waitlisted for Emory. No scores submitted.
Can someone please explain to me how I got rejected from Oxford college but Waitlisted at Emory? Does it make sense?
I’m thinking Emory’s waitlisting a ton of folks. Also their admission decisions are probably independent of each other.
oxford is smaller and very selective. a lot of it depends on region too. for example, last year, they only took like 80 kids that applied from the southeast whereas that demographic is larger with just emory.
Just got in both Emory College and OC… from NJ!
Yeah I believe Emory and Oxford have completely different admissions teams and since Oxford is a much smaller community/environment, I think they look for different things in their applicants
D got in both. 4.0 UW. 1540. Well rounded ECs (academic/athletic/leadership).
I don’t think that’s the case. My son was waitlisted and he visited the school in fall 2019 and went to multiple virtual events and in person college fairs before the pandemic.
Accepted to Emory, waitlisted to Oxford. 96.96 GPA, 1450 SAT, all honors and no AP (go to a vocational school)
Unimportant question but does anyone know if Emory sends out a physical acceptance package or if it’s just the virtual materials?
35 ACT - took once / 4.0 UW- 4.66 W GPA/ 14 AP’s/ school awards/state awards/qualified for nationals. Focus on that ONE EC that he loves the most. Good essay, no idea about rec. letters.
I believe so. If you go to Oxford for 2 years, then I believe you automatically got to Emory college for the last two, but I would verify.
Waitlisted at Emory, my daughter didn’t apply to Oxford.- 32 SS (30 Composite). Yes, Emory SS for the first time this year but naturally that will take up the 25/75 range from past years.
