Emory RD 2025

I am so sorry. She can still qualify for other merit aid so don’t lose hope.

I would assume so, because they would still want you to strongly consider Emory, but it is good to confirm.

You have other options like Tulane so that is great!

Yes, we are so thrilled regarding today’s package from Tulane. And thank you for your kind words.

Other than the full ride from the scholars program, does anyone know what the highest merit award one can receive is? Are there any full-tuition, half-tuition, or any similar scholarships?

^Someone please please answer this. It’s my dream school and I know the scholar’s program only really accepted 2% of applicants. But I really can’t afford to go if they don’t have similar merit based scholarships :frowning:

hiii, where did you see this? I’ve looked everywhere

The most I’ve seen anyone get is $25k. They do meet demonstrated need if that helps you. Doesn’t us. Can’t imagine u could earn as much as a Scholar or what would be the point of winning Scholar ?

So do you think if we are a finalist that we will at least get 25k or something similar?

The question was related to scholarships without scholars.

Truth is none of us know. Look at their faqs or call and you will get an answer.

Ahh I had a friend who didn’t apply/get into the scholar’s program but she still got a 100k merit-based scholarship. I’ll be sure to call them. Thank you, though!

I’d like to quote these sentences below from a college financial aid officer.

“That’s correct. Federal regulations state a student’s aid cannot exceed their Cost of Attendance.”

And the COA of Emory is about 73K, so this “100K” sounds like a joke.

Prove me wrong please.

It is possible that the 100K is spread over 4 years

I assume the scholarship is spread over 4 years. Schools often describe them that way to sound the most impressive. No reason to assume someone’s statement is a joke.

Emory gave $25K to many/all? of their non-scholarship finalist early notification RD admits. This poster just added all 4 years together.

Oh, man, I thought that was 100K/year.

My D has got almost 300K from one college if counting this way… Good luck everyone!

Do we have any intel or educated guesses on expected decision date?

I’d assume April 1st ish. I’ve heard other colleges send “likely to be admitted” letters; not sure why they would as it defeats the purpose of awaiting the decision. Not sure if Emory does. We’ve gotten nothing - not even promotional emails like other schools send.

Last year was March 25th

@jgpa13 I would love to get the results soon. I am hoping it will be near March 25th, but we have to consider that last year Ivy day was March 26th and this year Ivy day will be April, 6th. Let´s hope it will not take forever to know the results.
