Emory Scholar: Preference to EDers?

Im not an ED applicant, but will that hurt me in this? I've shown my interest by visiting and what not, but did not apply to emory early. do they care? will they put an ED applicant above me because of that reason?

I'm really not sure, maybe call the office, or if they are coming to your town you can ask them at a fair, your school or wherever they are

this probably isn't something they'd like to openly admit but i'm sure they take ED into account when looking at Scholars.

No-- the scholars program is entirely separate.
ED probably makes a negligible difference-- the kids are outstanding regardless.

(points to scholars '09 thread)

Actually, Emory recommends that you apply RD if you want to be considered for the Scholar's merit scholarship. If you apply ED, and don't get Scholar's, you are still bound to go, while if you apply Regular, you can then choose. They told us that everyone was looked at equally, ED and RD. In fact why would they favor ED applicants when those folk are already committed.

thats true... haha that makes me feel better... even though possibilities of getting this scholarship are slim...haha.
