^thats what i want to know! :)

Dear XXXX:

The Emory Scholar Selection Committee has completed an initial review of nominees for our program of merit-based scholarships. This year’s review was particularly difficult given the extraordinary quality of the nominees. I regret that after careful consideration of your application and nomination materials, you were not chosen as a semifinalist for the Emory Scholars Program. Over 2,500 students were nominated for our scholarships this year, and only 350 students were named semifinalists. Please understand that this is an extremely competitive process and rest assured that your application was thoroughly reviewed.

Though I am sure you are disappointed, I hope you will remain interested in Emory. Your application will continue to be reviewed in the Regular Decision process, and your admission decision will be mailed by April 1, 2011. Not advancing to the semifinalist round will not affect your chances of being admitted; indeed, many non-semifinalists are admitted each year from the Regular Decision pool. Students offered admission will have until May 1, 2011 to respond to our offer with a non-refundable $450 deposit.

If you are a US citizen or US Permanent Resident, you should make plans to apply for need-based financial aid if you have not already done so. With over 60% of Emory’s first year class receiving some form of financial assistance, it is common for Emory Scholar nominees to qualify for substantial need-based financial aid. By February 1, 2011, submit the College Scholarship Service PROFILE at [CSS/Profile - student financial aid application](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>How to Complete the CSS Profile® – BigFuture | College Board), and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at [Home - FAFSA on the Web-Federal Student Aid](http://www.fafsa.ed.gov). Both forms are required in order to evaluate your eligibility for financial aid. Please note that need-based financial aid is not available for international students.

I look forward to the further review of your application for admission, and I invite you to visit the campus if you have not had the opportunity to do so. You may contact the Admission Office to make arrangements.

Please accept my best wishes for continued success during your senior year.

Sincerely,

Jean D Jordan

Dean of Admission

Wow thats very weird. Is there any one who still did not receive the email?!?!?

thank you, persian princess! i’m sorry you didn’t make it <3

still nothing for me.

interesting…anyone else besides xoxsarasxox and i who didnt get an email?

I still have not gotten an email or anything on OPUS. I applied ED I and already got in… does that mean anything? Where should I be checking?

it’s 10:44 PM here on the east coast. We haven’t heard anything good or bad about scholars tonight. Would anyone chime in how recently they got their email notification? Are they working in the office at this hour?

Does your OPUS reflect your results?

And again - our son got in ED and from previous threads, I keep reading that accepted ED dont get scholar status. Makes sense - why offer $$ to people that are committed to going to Emory.

i’m an east coaster too if that counts! still no email/opus decision.

TJC I got in ED I and have not heard anything yet either…

just out of curiosity babaganoosh alexistaylor and xoxsar are you guys ed?

I am ED I and have gotten in and I remember babaganoosh from the ED CC thread

I am a semifinalist. I live in AZ and in my email, it says “Sent at 6:02 PM (UTC). Current time there: 3:54 AM”. I applied Regular Decision and mailed my application in on November 15, the day it was due.

(well besides alexis taylor haha)

we applied ED, got in and haven’t heard about scholars either way.

nope not ed! maybe they forgot about me :(

on OPUS on the bottom part of the page with My Applications and View Decision Letter and all that stuff does it list the Scholars program as one of your applications? Or just the Undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences at Emory?

10:58; still no email.

At the end of Nicolai’s blog its says, “Best wishes and let us know if you did not receive a decision and you think that you should have!”

Hopefully, everyone will receive a decision by midnight.

I’m on the east coast, applied RD and I haven’t heard anything yet either! (no email, nothing on opus, etc)

Emory University Undergraduate Emory College Fall 2011

^ That is what is on the bottom of the first page after I log in.
Nothing about the Scholars program. However, if you click on “details” under the To Do List on the right side, you can see all parts of your application. On that page, it lists:

Scholar Nom-School Portion Completed Office of Admission Undergraduate Emory College
Scholar Nom-Student Portion Completed Office of Admission Undergraduate Emory College

this is kinda annoying! and i’m getting sleepy :/

edit: patriotically, i have that too, but no decision.
