Okay, so I’ve gotten no notification on my Emory Scholars. I was a bit late getting it in, and it definitely was received, but I did get an email last week saying that they would all come out by 7PM on Friday. How have some of you received decisions already? Is this bad news for me?

2.5 more hours. I’m so anxious…gah!

So close 1.5 hours

Just got emailed by Emory

Hello Alex

my decision is up! accepted as a goizueta finalist!

Rejected for both Emory Scholars and Goizueta Scholars. I honestly don’t know where I went wrong. 4.95 GPA unweighted, 5.88 weighted, toughest schedule, 35 on ACT, started my own business (topic of my essay for Goizueta), board position on an all-adult cultural organization of 500 people (with an amazing rec), etc. Already in at UVA, UChicago, UMich.

Could people post their stats? I’m quite disappointed.

Also rejected. Man so dissapointing :(

My question is, I applied to both Emory and Goizueta Scholars programs. I thought it was an either/or, but is it a dual scholarship in which I’m competing for a spot for both scholarships? Or was I right that I compete for being an Emory scholar as well as a Goizueta scholar, and I just happened to get rejected for both?

I would think you’re competing for each individually.

^Hmm. I guess I’m just being arrogant then (although, all smart/creative people have to be arrogant :)). I thought my application was pretty strong in every area. I didn’t have a laundry list of ECs, but starting my own business and being on an otherwise all adult committee for one of the largest cultural groups in the Chicago area seemed exceptional to me.

Bleh, I better accept it and move on. I’ll need to learn to live with that bitter taste of rejection come April time

SAT: 2330
GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.5W
Science and Math Magnet program, 11 APs, including this year,
ECs:very heavily involved in business club, held national board position and high state position, business internship, library volunteer, orchestra, quiz team
awesome rec from my business club adviser specifically for goizueta

Drose you got accepted to Chicago so… nothing to worry about…

Are Emory Scholars being notified tonight if they are finalists?

Why we still don’t have email/decision? Any idea? Got an email a week ago about tonight’s decision.

Alex, I know. I’m not trying to be “that” guy. I just wanted to figure out where I went wrong for my own sake. Just to see where I can improve on because I believe this decision process is not like the crapshoot that the Ivies are.

Goizueta Rejected: 35 ACT, 10 AP’s and 3 Post-AP’s, 99/100 Avg.

Didn’t see this one coming. Oh well.

DRose2012 and XAlex452…you both have great stats, and I was rooting for you because I could see how much you cared anout Emory and the Goizueta. If misery wants company, my son also received a rejection. This is such a tough process. You will both be just fine with scores and grades like yours…and I’m telling my son the same. Go ahead and be wretched for a while, then brush yourself off and look forward to the next hurdle! Would love to see where you both end up. Good luck to you, and congrats to those who made it!

Anyone has not received decision like us?

hey guys how did u find your decisions? i couldn’t find mine online under the communications link?

It’s not under communications - it’s under view decision.
