Emory Scholars notification...

My stats are good, but I’ve got weird extracurriculars. I’ve been in college classes for years, and I had some personal issues. I’m just hoping they’ll see through all that. That, and I’ve got some connections at Emory, so I’m hoping that’ll help get me in (as in, I’ve got a personal interest in attending the school, so I’ve got a good index of interest).

If I don’t get Emory Scholars, I will probably go to UChicago (accepted EA). The weather is very different there. That’s for sure.

waaaaah! The 16th can’t get here soon enough.

If you are not a semifinalist are you rejected or deffered?

No, you just find out if you are accepted on April 1, like everyone else.

@kitkatkatie. Haha, isn’t that the truth. The weather here in Chicago is COLD let me tell you. Gosh, I have a swim meet on the 16th. I know I’ll be freaking out the entire time whether or not I got it.

Just spoke to someone at the Admissions office and was told that notifications to Emory Scholar semifinalists will be sent out Jan 21/22 via e-mail, snail mail and OPUS.

It would be good to have a re-confirmation of these dates.

Good luck to all!

That’s so far away!

waaaah! I want my decision! the 21/22 is too far away.

*sigh still waiting, still Obsessively-Compulsively checking OPUS…

are you sure they are not posting tomorrow? historically, emory always posts the weekend before Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday…

I’m going to check this weekend anyways. Fingers crossed!

It looks like the decision comes out today, Jan. 15th.

Emory & Goizueta Scholars Information
Emory and Goizueta Scholars Nominees will have a decision regarding their semifinalist status mailed via the U.S. Postal Service on January 15th. All Scholars Nominees will also be sent an email on Saturday, January 16th which will include information regarding the semifinalist round.

We have found that several email servers may not deliver these emails because we send them via a third-party email vendor. In order to ensure the email does not end up in the “spam” folder, Scholars Nominees should make sure to add our email server and address to their lists of Safe Senders: http://monsoonemail.com/SafeSender/</a>.

If you do not receive the email on January 16th, you may contact our office at 800-727-6036 and we will resend your notification email. Please note that we cannot release decision information over the phone.

will decisions be on OPUS?

jxh= where did you get that information?

I second sportgreet03’s question because I searched all over Emory’s website and could not find that info.

Guys don’t worry about it. They haven’t been sent out yet. CC would be a riot by now if they had been…

Either tomorrow or 21/22nd as mentioned earlier seems reasonable to me.

tomorrow on opus by 8am. letters mailed today

Here is a link to the info posted by jxh3zheda: [Emory & Goizueta Scholars Information](Admission | Emory University | Atlanta GA)
It is on the Emory Scholars Fact Sheet on the right side where is says Emory Scholars Nominees check your status.

Yeah, I just got an email around 7: “Decisions for Emory Scholars nominees will be available online through OPUS (www.opus.emory.edu), and will be posted by 8:00 am Saturday, January 16. We will also mail decision letters on Friday, January 15.”

But it’s not on OPUS YET!!! *freaking out.

I’ve been checking OPUS religiously since I got the email too.

Based on hearsay, does anyone know their MO? Will a rejection from the scholars program be posted, or will I just assume that if nothing changes that I didn’t make the program? Has anyone who applied to the program not gotten an e-mail (besides me!)?
