well, technically november 1st, but same thing. ![]()
why?

So OPUS decisions are not online yet, but because they got their decisions on Feb. 18th last year, which was a Friday, Iām thinking that maybe decisions will be posted tomorrow the 19th?

February 18th was actually a Wednesday last year, so hopefully itās today! I canāt wait any longer! I keep checking during school.

I called the admissions office today and was told that decisions will be posted on OPUS either by the end of this week or early next week ā¦

I got my decisionā¦got a liberal arts scholarship for 15k per yr, but did not make it to finalist round. Nor the actual Emory Scholars program.

What is this liberal arts scholarship? Requirements for it? How many given? Benefits other than the money?

Ughā¦got liberal arts scholarshipā¦so I canāt attendā¦I got into dartmouth and am still waiting on pton

^^^how much $ did you get? Wondering if the liberal arts scholarships are a set amount or somethingā¦

aghhhh. liberal arts for 15k/yr, too. thatās really nothing to scoff at⦠especially coming from emory. i was just hoping for more. oh well! congrats to all!

Yaā¦I too was 15k a yearā¦disappointing as they just use tht money 2 meet need

Where did you find your decision? learnlink or regular email?

regular email. liberal arts.

Iām sorry to hear u didnāt scholars anothā¦tho congratz on chicago

Does anyone know about the Barkley Forum scholarship at Emory? Also, is liberal arts scholarship then end of the road for these semifinalists?

Also, does the FAFSA information factor into these scholarship awards?

Hmā¦has anyone else not heard anything yet? Iām still waiting on the email. Did everyone get their e-mails around 3, or are some coming out later?

I also was a Semifinalist but have not heard anything. Does this mean that we probably did not receive a scholarship?

The Barkley Forum scholarship is one award that is given to a top policy debater (usually one of the 5 debaters in the country). It provides a full tuition merit award for all four years. The process of getting it, however, is external to the Emory scholars program despite receiving the same benefits as the other scholars.

Thanks, Amadani.
@Prismatic, Student10000, it could very well be that they are putting the semifinalists throā filters and the later you hear from them, closer you are to being a finalist. All the best!

@Rtgrove, thanks.

@Raving: no, these scholarships are totally merit-based (or at least thatās what the letter says)

Oh, and I got 17k⦠which is really weird since everyone else seems to have gotten 15k

I believe everyone who makes semifinals gets at least 10k, or thatās what Iāve seen on this forum in the past. Anyway, congrats to everyone on what you have received so far!
Hopefully the scholarships will make it a bit more affordable. Weāre really to have made it this far in the process no matter what happens from here.
