Emory Scholars Question

I'm looking at Emory for their Scholars program. Is there a certain number I should shoot for on my ACTs/GPA/class rank to help improve my chances of receiving this award?

ACT=35
GPA=3.83 unweighted 5.6 weighted
Class rank=Comes out tomorrow, but pretty sure 30/420

Scholars isn’t about how high your test scores are or your GPA. Yes, a lot of semifinalists have high stats, but you have to convince the committee that you stand out as a person. Presenting yourself as someone who will make a lasting contribution at Emory will take you much farther than your class rank.

Infinityguitars, could you show us examples for having potential to contribute at Emory ?

Dad2013, when I was in hs, I participated in a club and my area of the country was the largest in the nation for this activity. The student who was in charge of the region effectively oversaw dozens of different schools’ activities, collaborated with others to organize regional/nationwide events, succeeded in the arts, and was/is extremely personable. She also earned outstanding grades, had great SAT scores, but then again so do a lot of people. Her obvious leadership potential set her apart from the other applicants high stats applicants and today she’s on a full ride to Emory Main.
