Yes, got the email from Emory that due to snow and their office closing, they are delaying the decisions on Emory Scholors. Okay with that. But really don’t want them to delay the weekend (if per chance invited). Anyone hear if the weekend may be moved back?

Saturday baby. Although I feel ED applicants won’t get anything.

Do RD applicants really have a bigger chance? I’ve read that on CC in the past, but it doesn’t seem like ED/RD would have that much of an impact

Does anyone know what time decisions will be released?!
I’m anxious to see. It’d really make me consider Emory more if I got some money.

kph, I think Emory Scholars is just a way to lure the Ivy-caliber applicants to come to Emory. Not only do you have the potential to receive a full-ride, there are many other benefits. So yeah I think applying to Emory RD gives you a much better chance.

musicmaniac, we only find out if we are semi-finalists on Saturday, right?

Yep, I’m pretty sure we find out about semi-finalist status on Saturday.
I don’t know when they tell you if you are a finalist. Do you get invited to the interview weekend as a semifinalist or is that only for finalists?

Interview weekend is for finalists only.

Does anyone know what time the decisions are released? Is it midnight?

it’s only for semifinalist guys, its not a make it or break it. Even if I make it, I’m still a long way from even getting the scholarship. If I don’t make it, fine…

I hope it’s midnight! I really want to know…
Do we log into OPUS or do they email us a decision?

Wait, so does making finalist mean you get the scholarship or do you still have to go through Finalist Weekend and interviews?

Just checked… still nothing on OPUS.

Just to clear up all the confusion.

We will find out who is a semi-finalist today (the medium through which we will may vary: email, OPUS, or a letter(letter might be 2-3 days later). Then in Feburuary, we find who the finalists are and those who just recieve the liberal arts or John Emory Scholarship. These finalists go to an inverview session at Emory itself. The finalists awards are released in April.

Hope this helps.

sorry this might sound really dumb…but what is OPUS exactly?

OPUS is the website that you log into with your Emory ID and password to check admission materials status, decisions, etc.

this is a helpful link from another thread explaining scholars process:

Under “My application” does it just say emory university or does it also say emory scholars?

For me it just says emory university, should it also include scholars? everything for scholars on the To-Do list is completed so I hope that means they’ve got/reviewed my application…don’t scare me XD

^ It should only say Emory University. No worries :)

ok great, haha so how will opus inform us of our decision exactly? also last time i got an email alot og stuff was “processing” should I be worried? I tracked my letters so I know they got some of the stuff they say they didnt have yet?
