If I am interested in computer science, should I apply to emory? Do a lot of people do it? Is it a good program? All advice appreciated!! Thanks so much!!
@agr771 I’d say there are better comp sci programs out there but Emory’s isn’t bad. We do have notable professors (such as Vigfusson) and you can get a strong comp sci education here. It’s just that Emory isn’t exactly comp sci oriented.
@agr771 : What @TheTennisNinja said. However, doesn’t really matter if school is “CS oriented” perse (unless you prefer a school with a bigger technology emphasis at the undergraduate level or you only care to apply CS to traditional contexts) because there are many uses for CS obviously. There are plenty of opportunities to employ any skills you learn to interdisciplinary contexts. It would likely be enhanced if you double majored with it. Also, it is one of the fastest growing departments in terms of enrollment and majors.
