Emory Theater

Does anybody have any comments on the quality of the theater studies program at Emory? Has anybody seen any student plays? Also, how do the theater students fit in on campus?

I live in the area, but I have only seen a few things at Emory. Theater Emory is evidently a program there where local professional actors work with students in productions; the productions I saw were Theater Emory productions and were outstanding (I went specifically to see some of my favorite local actors). I think Theater Emory is a part of the theater studies program. Around here, the theater studies program has a solid reputation. I hear that a plus is the facilities and the flexibility of the performance spaces.

Thanks. That new performing arts center does look very nice and I was wondering if the students really got to perform with the Theater Emory pros.

You don't have to audition to get into the program...:( ?

It's a BA Theatre Studies program so you don't have to audition. You just have to get accepted to the school which seems hard enough! I checked and they have recent graduates in the MFA programs at Yale, ACT, Brandeis, NYU, U. Texas and the Old Globe. Some of those are among the best and have extremely competitive auditions, so there must be no shortage of talent.

The performing arts center is AWESOME. Has anyone seen it since the organ was completed? I thought it was one of the most amazing fine arts centers that I had seen.
