I think they are supposed to start looking at applications on April 1, and admissions are on a rolling basis. Anyone applying for fall 2011??

I am. I guess I should hurry up and get my application in.

Anyone else? Have people been hearing back or anything?

I’m almost done with my application, and I’ve been sending things in separately (like standardized scores, recs, transcript, etc.) and haven’t been hearing back from Emory at all to track the status of my application or anything… has anyone heard back yet? Any news or updates at all?

I am in process of sending in applications. Transferring from Hopkins, first semester grades were covered so spring semester is huge for me. Will likely end up with a 3.0-3.4 GPA, how are my chances? I am an athlete as well, and have several contacts/references at Emory

Yeah I am a student at UW-Madison with like a 3.7ish GPA. I got a offer for conditional transfer last fall (when I originally applied to Emory/got waitlisted) and I took it. I think all you need is like a 3.2 GPA and so I’m waiting to hear on the financial aid about next week.

I guess it’s a little different from you guys but yeah. Looking forward to Emory!

hey I’m applying for fall 2011 transfer but i’m not sure about my chances. I got a c first term and it’s pulling down my GPA to 3.3 but i can hopefully get it back up to 3.5 by the end of this term (trimester system). I’m pretty involved on campus with lacrosse, international club, global embassadors and the office of student activities. I’m originally from Germany but i moved to the u.s my freshman year of high school. can anyone give me an estimate on my chances of getting in?

Any updates from anyone? Got my OPUS login information, and Emory should have gotten everything by now I hope! Waiting, waiting, waiting… Anyone know around when they’ll start releasing decisions??

I got accepted last Friday through Conditional Transfer Program and I am waiting on financial aid this Friday! Where are you guys planning to live?

^Congrats, HeatFanNY! Will you be attending for sure this fall?

Lalala any other updates from those who applied as a regular transfer student for fall 2011?

decisions wont be made until after june 1st. right? or am i wrong

Well, it’s rolling basis, so I assumed they would be released as they were made. That’s what I always though rolling basis was. Can anyone clarify?

Thanks essefive! I will most likely be attending, and I find out my financial aid tomorrow morning. Someone should start a facebook group for transfer students or something though.

the website says that decisions are not made until after the deadline … from the website:

We begin reading transfer applications for summer after the first of April and for fall after the first of June.

So a few weeks after June 1st is when we will find out.

Yes, but at the same time, another part of the website states that admissions begins reviewing transfer applications April 1st. (Google ‘transfer emory’ and it is the first link.)

Type of Applicant: Transfer
Semester: Fall
Deadline: June 1
Decision mailed: Review of completed applications begins April 1

(It’s in chart form.)

Thus, I’m not sure which is correct.

hmm, well maybe it’s either when all your forms and things are turned in or june 1st whichever comes first

wow…I just got my financial aid package and I am speechless. It was about 30k short of what I expected (Based on other people’s awards) and 20k short of what I needed…I got less than 4000 in grants and there is NO way my parents can afford this. I am going to call the fin aid office tomorrow but otherwise it doesn’t look like I’m going anymore guys! :/

HeatFanNY, were you invited into the conditional transfer program? It’s not just for EVERYONE who accepted a place on their waitlist right? It says on their website that you have to be invited after the waitlist thing is over. I’m just curious since I’ve been waitlisted and would love to go next year!

Nocrackup, yes I was invited into the program, that’s the only way you can get in. However, I was waitlisted last year too (regular decision) and I sent my admissions officer a letter telling them I will go if they accept me etc. etc. but since they didn’t take anyone off the waitlist they invited me to go to this program. So send them a letter!

I’m transferring into Emory this fall! Any luck essefive?

Hey, ktak240! Congrats!! When did you find out about your acceptance and when did you apply?
