Emory Transfer!! Please Chance me!! Fall 2014 Transfer

Okay, I am originally from Michigan.

HS GPA: 3.6/3.8 W
ACT: 25 (Taking again and hoping for a 27)
I am an IB diploma holder (Took 3 HLs and 3 SLs)
Very Involved, held leadership roles and involved in volunteer work

College- Attending a medium size liberal arts school (originally came for nursing, pursuing business)
First Semester GPA: 3.88 (16 credits)

Involved, Volunteered at local clinic and nursing home.

I did become a member of Business Club.

I believe I will have a good letter of reference from my advisor.

I am very interested in Emory, and I am planning on visiting once.

Please let me know what you think, I am concerned about my ACT score, but I believe that my college GPA is more important in this process.

You are aware that Emory averages a 95% retention of its first year students, right? That means that in any one year there is very little room for transfer students. Talk to the Emory transfer admissions officers, and also consider transferring to Oxford College, Emory’s suburban campus.

Does this mean that my chances are really slim?

Emory’s College of Arts and Sciences actually has quite a high transfer rate compared to other elite schools. Your GPA is good, but your ACT is really low–but you should definitely still apply.

Note that our business school does not directly accept transfer applications, so you’ll have to be in the College for about a year before you can apply. Also, Oxford College does not accept transfer students anymore.

Feel free to PM me with any questions.
