Emory Transfer Q.

Hello, I have been researching Emory U for transfer students, I got little bit confused about SAT/ACT requirement for transfer.

Here is the citation

"""""All applicants are required to submit scores, taken within the last five years, from the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT). If you have not taken the SAT or ACT within the last five years, you may arrange to do so through the Educational Testing Service office in your area. Scores may be reported to Emory directly from the testing center or from the official secondary school transcript. Emory’s College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB)/SAT code number is 5187; the ACT code number is 0810. Students who do not speak English as a first language are strongly encouraged to submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score. """"""

So I am a college freshman and want to transfer to Emory as Sophomore. Due to the fact that I had my HS abroad, I don`t have SAT/ACT scores. Does it mean I have to take them?

Or I am able not to submit them, because I have not taken them during last 5 years.

It sounds like you have to submit your SAT scores from the last 5 years it was taken. Since you’ve had HS abroad and haven’t taken the SAT’s, you will now have to because it is a requirement.

“If you have not taken the SAT or ACT within the last five years, you may arrange to do so through the Educational Testing Service office in your area.”

Honestly, send them an email and tell them about ur situation. My SAT was AWFUL! However, I am a junior transfer, so I figured that if my hs transcript can be waived, I could waive my SAT too. I sent them email, asking if i could, since i had 63 credits, and they said yes. So just ask, maybe they’ll make an exception (maybe not). But you don’t lose anything by trying. good luck.

Call admissions and ask because different schools have different policies. Some say if you never took them you dont need to now; but others say you must take them to even be considered.
best of luck!
