@basjhb : Of course it resets…it is a completely different institution. However, employers and other opportunities you may be interested in will look at transcripts from all institution.
Hey guys! I didn’t see this transfer thread in the past. Only found it now. Good luck with your decisions.
By the way I have 05/02 in my notes for decisions.
Oh also my SAT score was just waived on the portal.
how do you know its coming out on the 2nd of may?? are u a sophomore transfer?? @Vincent1997
That’s when decisions were released last year, but they usually release decisions in the last week of April.
Last year it was delayed to 5/02. They sent out an email to students the last week of april apologizing for the delay. but the year before that it was the last thursday of april (4/28)
I am a junior transfer.
Did anyone else get the email of notification release date for the 26th?!?!?
@Gavinstener Yup got the email just now too
Let the countdown begin…
i got the email too … nervous
yeah. I think they send this email to everyone
Hey guys! I also got the email; I am a little nervous. Can you chance me to know if I can have any little hope? I applied last year as a freshman on EDI and got rejected (I had a bad SAT and TOEFL and average high school grades) This year I am applying as a transfer with 3.8 GPA a better Toefl (however it is still lower than what they ask for). It is important to add that I have double legacy, my dad, and my brother study there so don’t know if that could help after all.
My extracurriculars are really good I have been working hard to improve my curriculum.
How many credits do you have? What major? What’s your toefl score?
36 credits, business, 91 @Vincent1997
did you take a lot of business credits at your previous school? I was told that it is better to take them directly at Emory so I didn’t take too many business credits at my current school… @clan123
@clan123 Hmm you’re right. Everything looks pretty good except the toefl score. However, I couldn’t find any minimum requirement. If you have good grades in English etc… then maybe it won’t be an issue. I’d say that your chance is definitely pretty good, but of course Emory is very competitive. I wouldn’t worry too much, we will know soon enough.
I’m so excited to find out! I’ve been so anxious just waiting to hear back from schools… Good luck everyone!
also, does anybody know if transfer business students will be “set back” a year or semester because they need to complete 2 semesters at Emory before transferring to Goizueta business school?
@clan123 I would agree with @Vincent1997. I applied and was accepted as a rising sophomore transfer to the college of arts and sciences last fall w/ a 3.93 GPA (but did not attend due to financial issues). Similarly, I also had a “poor” SAT score and HS GPA, but they were affected by health complications that I detailed in my application. I didn’t have the legacy hook, but I planned to be a walk-on student-athlete at Emory (although division III institutions can’t “recruit” athletes like division I, I’m sure the aspect bolstered my application). I think your repeated interest in Emory will be a strong contributing factor for your application. I don’t want to say anything to really get your hopes up as the admissions process is highly unpredictable at times, however, I truly believe you have a decent shot at being admitted.
