emory univ. good financial package

hey I am a low economic class and I had a veryvery low EFC of about 40.
I have to decide whether I want to transfer to Emory from a state university by this Friday.
The total of $45530 was offered by the school, including all the loans that I can get and I want to find out what the actual cost that I would have to pay from my pocket would be.

I was trying to get the cost of attending the school from various websites and they very. I can only afford to pay may be of 2000 dollars a year at max and I want to hear from those of you who is attending EMory what the actual cost will be.

Also, if I transfer to Emory I have to go as a sophomore when I should be a junior.. then I would have to attend the school one more year than I ve planned .. do you think its worth it? I also plan to attend a graduate school (hopeful Emory or the others of this level.)

should I transfer or not

Make sure when you factor in your tuition costs think about what your graduation debt will be from the loans. I don’t know what your future academic goals are but will accumulating debt as an undergrad help you or hinder you to pursue those goals?

From Emory’s website, it looks like tuition, fees, and a standard room total $44,702. As an upperclassman you can pick your own meal plan. Books, personal expenses, and travel are extra.

[Financial Aid - Emory College - Cost of Attendance](http://www.emory.edu/FINANCIAL_AID/undergraduates/emory-college/cost-of-attendance.php)

in general, Emory gives excellent need-based financial aid – not as good as no-loan schools or HYP, but better than most other colleges (ignoring merit scholarships). However, you should ask them about whether they will fund your third year bcos some colleges cap the number of semesters that they will award aid, i.e., four semesters of finaid for a standard Junior transfer.
