Emory University Class of 2016 EDI

what time are the decisions released?

Hi guys, does anyone know if Emory will email the ED decisions out, or just snail mail? If they do email us, when (time-wise) will it be?

Last year Emory posted the ED decisions after 7 PM on OPUS. The snail mail letters were mailed the same day.

on December 15th?

Yes. The snail mail letters came a few days later (depending upon where you live).

I know it’s kinda late to be asking this…but was it okay for me to apply ED to emory and EA to two other schools?

Emory’s website doesn’t say anything about whether or not it’s okay to apply to other schools Early Action if you’re applying ED1…I would call the admissions office maybe, except I don’t know if it would be worth it now that we’re only a week away from decision time. (I think it’s probably fine, though. If you get into Emory ED you can just withdraw your applications from your other schools and no harm is done.)

taylorj21, yes it is. I applied to UGA and GT EA then applied to Emory ED.

did anyone receive an email about financial aid?

Does anyone else see the three financial aid to-dos on OPUS?

My son doesn’t have any financial aid (or any other) To do’s on his OPUS. We didn’t apply for any financial aid though. I don’t know if he got an email either.

Does anyone know if Emory requires a midyear report IF you are accepted during the ED round? Obviously they require them for deferrals and RD decisions but if you are already accepted are the mid years necessary or can we just send the end of year final grades?

I’m not sure about the grade reports, but I’m sure admissions will inform you in the decision letter.

Can’t wait…got into my number 2 choice today and im counting down the seconds till Thursday…

This wait is killing me… and it’s finals week. I wish i could skip the next few days. Im sure the rest of you are having similar emotions…

@Melons: Yup! Received the same email!

@dmbfan41: I only have two financial aid to-do’s on opus. One for the FASFA and one for the IDOC packet…

saltedamygdala, Melons, dmbfan41 - did you check the CA box that you will be applying for financial aid?

I did apply for the financial aid. what made me really nervous was that the financial aid email sounded like I’m their 2012~2013 student…Why would they assign me a financial advisor for 2012-2013 if I am rejected???

seiclan, I did apply for financial aid.

Melons, I know exactly what you mean! The part where they said they assigned you a financial advisor really freaked me out, too! It definitely is misleading to assign us a financial advisor before we get a decision from them, but I don’t think we should get our hopes up since it looks like everyone who applied for financial aid might have gotten the email.

^ I am trying not to… but… it’s killing me!!! haha
