Emory University - Early Decision II chances?

Hi! I just wanna go to Emory - it's my #1.

Female from a competitive private high school in Florida

GPA: UW 3.73 / 4 W 4.23
SAT: 2000 (Math 640, Reading 690, Writing 670)
APs: French (3), US History (4), AP Lang (4); Taking AP Computer Science A, AP Calc AB, AP Literature, AP Biology, and AP Physics A this year. Pretty much all of the hardest classes my school has to offer.

Extra Curriculars: Really strong. Most notable: Robotics club (won several awards), Literary Magazine (award winning and Editor in Chief my senior year), Key Club, Interact Club, French Club (Historian11/President12), Work study program at my school as lab assistant, peer tutor, National Honor Society with several course-specific honor societies (English, Social Studies, Mathematics, and the writer's honor society).

Recs: Pretty strong. One was from the teacher I'm the lab assistant for (also her former student), and two from my English teachers.

Hooks? If any: I'm a first generation college student.

Hey,
I think you have a decent chance. Your stats are similar to mine and I’m a current freshmen at Emory. Now… conquer the essays and you’ll be fine. :)

Thank you!!

you have very competitive stats and ed, even ed2, shows your interest. I think you have a nice shot! good luck!

Hey, I was looking at this and you and I seem so similar!

I applied ED to Emory (we find out so soon!) and want to go so badly! Pretty much same stats! I’m also from a competitive private school in Florida! I am lab assistant also, do robotics, and got recommendation letters from my the teacher I’m lab assistant for and my english teacher! Just thought it was cool coincidences! Fingers crossed!

I would put your chances between 60-70% (with 27% being the average at Emory). Yes this is my fancy way of saying you have a great chance, especially because of the ED factor.

stressed4scores did you get in?!

Thanks to everyone else, too!

I did for ed1!! Most stressful night when i found out but it all worked out! Good luck!

Oh my god good luck! When did you find out? I’m really nervous because I really want to go there. I don’t think I’ll have a problem with getting into Oxford, but you know, Emory is preferable.

I hope to see you next year though! CONGRATS.

Hey togoornottogo. I am an ED II applicant too! We both have similar stats. Hope we all get into Emory College. Have you submitted your midyear report?

Yup! It was downloaded a week or two ago. I think it went well. I only had 2 Bs last semester (AP calc, AP biology) so… Hopefully it’s good. What about you?

hey togoornottogo im applying ED ll too. but im from Ethiopia I have to take TOEFL in addition to the SATs. it makes the whole process even longer. good luck everyone!

oh wow this post is preety old I didn’t notice, so did you get in togoornottogo?
