‘emoryhopeful’ : Are any of you guys applying as athletic recruits?
As for me, no. I wish I was good at something though. Everyone seems to be good at a sport these days.
You applied as one?

school of arts and science and applying to goizuetta 2 years later

oh an as for the athletic recruits, do u have to be in an athletic team in high school to get in???
Or can anyone apply and audition…?

january 14th at 8 am we find out! i’m so nervous! i have NO idea if i’ll get in or not. my brother is a freshman and i want to go so badly!!!

oh, and i’m majoring in english different than the mainly business and pre-med kids!

Hopefully we’ll see each other at emory!
I noticed that there are more girls than boys at emory.
Are we only girls here?

I am an athletic recruit! I am actually going to Emory again this weekend! Ahhh I want to find out, I check opus pretty much everyday just in case.
and my things werent registered until 2 weeks after the deadline and I sent them in in the beginning of december so it defff took a while and remember the huge snow storm so that also set their work back. they even moved the deadline for regular decision to the beginning of febuary

@hurryup , I don’t think you have to be on the school team for some sports like rowing, as long as you show that you’re good at your sport whether it be through videos or stats, I’m pretty sure the coaches can help

@bestmemories: yea I applied as a recruit
Hey where is everybody here applying from? California up in here :P

Emoryhopeful, are you getting an athletic scholarship?

unfortunately you cant get athletic scholarships because it is division 3

We’re rounding the bases you guys, almost there.

In regards to athletic recruits, I am a guy and not being recruited but I hope to walk on to the soccer or track team if I get in via ED II!

Almost two weeks until decisions.

So nervous!

i was just at emory and someone told me that they actually publish if the results on febuary 14th at 8 am just to look out for that

two weeks from tomorrow!
Do you know if Emory sends out letters(mail) on the 14th?
So basically, we get to check online first right?
It’s def going to be the most stressful clicks on my mouse of my life…
haha.

im sure they send you letters im just not sure when they mail them out but i know that it will be online first so check there

they send the letters out the fifteenth

The first place your decision will be is OPUS, so basically you login on the 14th and keep refreshing the page for the next 30+ hours, well that’s what I did. You will receive the snail mail letter in about a week after the 15th. And @ dentete, yes there is a chance you get them earlier, perhaps the 14th. Emory has done that in previous years, but broke the trend this year for it’s ED1 decisions, so I don’t know what to expect.

So if that’s 8 o clock eastern time , if I’m on the west coast I should find out at 5 in the morning right?

i’m so nervous! anyone know what the average stats are for ed2 applicants? i’m not feeling so great about my chances…

I heard Emory takes more ED 1 students, because usually, the students are defered somewhere else in november and they apply for ED2 at Emory. ( not the case for me. I just waited for better SAT results. )

You don’t have to worry. The ED students and RD students have the same stats. The ED acceptance rate is higher because fewer people apply and also the people that do are usually qualified.
But it certainly sjows them that you are interested. Emory would def take you and not a RD if you both have the same stats.
When I visited( about two months ago), the admission guy told me that a 2000 in sats is enough. And a 3.8 gpa is average. Its the 50th percentile though. You can have lower grades but better e. activities.

Does Emory ask for midyear report for ED2 applicants? I can’t seem to find that information anywhere on their website!
