*** EMORY UNIVERSITY WAIT LIST - CLASS OF 2021 ***

Congratulations!! Can I ask when did you get the email? @bluetiger11

Also did you email your regional rep or the main account when you updated them?

Regional rep and I got it this past Wednesday (May 10) in the morning

@bluetiger11 - Congratulations!. Did you accept the offer ?

Hi @bluetiger11 I know this is a personal question and you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to but what was your gpa and test scores sent to Emory? I really just want to know if I have a chance at getting off the waitlist

I’m wondering if @bluetiger11 was one of the first people to get off the waitlist. Getting nervous :frowning:

Getting nervous too we’ll see what happens it’s still barely the middle of may these waitlist can take as long as late June

I talked to an admissions counselor when I visited 2 weeks ago and she said they usually wrap up waitlist stuff by june and that they don’t put many people on it so I think well know in the next week or two. Scary stuff

@rnn5043 : They lied about how many they put on it (often it is like 1/5 of the applicant pool based on data they once released to Collegeboard: https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/college-university-search/emory-university). Unless they do not think it is a lot of people, they lied. What they could say is that they do not pull many off. I have seen some schools pull many more off of the list.

I found the statistics for the class of 2021 chances seem bleak when reviewing last year’s stats 45 kids were taken off with almost 2000 students who accepted their spot on the waitlist.

My guidance counselor talked to the rep from my state and he said that the waitlist situation might be similar to last years @bernie12 . I mean I figured that because this year was so awful and lots of people didn’t get into places they thought they would that the trickle down effect would leave little room for waitlisted kids to get in but in my high school there have already been a handful of kids accepted off waitlists. I just hope Emory is the same.

Just got an email from my guidance counselor who spoke to the admissions office. Apparently they’ve already made their decisions about the waitlist and that they “do not anticipate much movement”.

So is there any more offers to come? Or is that it?

I am 99% going to accept, got a really great financial aid offer. My GPA was a 3.75 UW, 4.55 W, SAT was a 2350 superscore and 800 on 3 subject tests.

@bluetiger11 What school did you commit to before Emory came in

I’m pretty sure there won’t be more offers unless a significant amount of people offered spots off the waitlist decline.

Do you guys know if it takes more time to reach international students or are they all released at the same time?

The same time because there are multiple admissions counselors who have designated areas of the country/world

So that’s about it for the waitlist no more applicants are going to be taken off? I would imagine there would be more seats to fill I thought Emory’s yield was low this year.

Why would you think their yield will be low this year
