My daughter was accepted to Emory and BU SPH and is having a difficult time deciding between the two.

Would greatly appreciate any comments on either or both schools, especially regarding the following:

Quality of the program & professors

Prestige

Housing

Financial Aid (she received all loans from Emory; have not heard from BU on FA)

Peers

Thanks!

how much do health administartor/ managers make entry-level? i know in the long run the pay is good. Is there any difference b/w master of public health and master of heatlh administration?

Congratulations to your daughter! I applied to Emory SPH, and was not admitted to my first choice program, and am still waiting to hear if I was admitted to my second choice. I don't know a lot about BU's public health program, other than I've heard, in general, that it is a strong program. I have a feeling Emory might be more prestigious. I know Emory's program is ranked 9th or 10th, according to U.S. News/World Report, but I'm not sure how BU compares. In general, I get the impression that Emory would be a great place to study public health, with lots of places to work and intern, such as the CDC which is right near Emory's campus.

In terms of housing...from what I have found, it looks like Emory has nice apartment complexes for their graduate students. As far as BU goes (I'm somewhat familiar with BU because I went to school near their campus, at BC), it's a very urban campus, and I doubt they have university-sponsored housing.

I hope some of this was helpful. :)

Thank you for your input Jess 1891! We have gotten the impressions about BU housing that you stated in your post, it really will drive up the total cost of the University to secure non-university sponspored housing.

Best of luck in getting into the program of your choice @ Emory.
