Emory vs Colorado college vs Pitzer??

I think you should bring this impression to fruition then.

Both excellent schools. Emory a highly rated university. Issue with that is that you have had problems with the norms of socially connecting.

I think CC offers you a different model.

Being a transfer is going to make youbthe new kid on the block everywhere. But at CC each 31/2 week class is stuck with you interacting with a small group for hours each day.

Emory or Pitzer. I’d say CC is small to transfer into - Pitzer has the benefit of the consortium.

Though the OP has expressed certain preferences with respect to collegiate social settings, I don’t think she has indicated difficulty regarding her general social interactions.

If the OP has few or no issues socializing, considers self very much the norm, I’d say Emory. But if s/he feels that s/he has some issues, needs a bit more nurturing, a gentler setting, CC is my suggestion. I feel CC makes a specific effort to form a close student community and those going there seem to embrace that philosophy.

My student who went there was on the quiet and shy side. Needed a bit of a boost socially. CC provided that boost.

Thank you everyone for the great advice. I have decided that I think CC is the best fit for me. Even from my OP, I can tell that although I had far more concerns about CC, there was also a lot more excitement and curiosity there. I’m still a little worried about the process of meeting new people, but I think that concern would follow me anywhere as a transfer. And I’m excited about the community I hope to find at CC! And to ski. Also thank you @merc81 for your insight. you are completely right, I really don’t have much difficultly in social interactions, only some frustrations with the lack of genuine/closer friendships at my current school (mostly, i just wanted to feel more connected to my peers, have closer friendships, and have a stronger sense of community). And @cptofthehouse thank you for sharing about your student’s experience at CC. From what I gather, I think I could really benefit from the closer community and more outgoing, laidback student body at CC. It’s very different from my current school, and also something I’ve never experienced even back home. Meeting different students, perhaps closer to your “eccentric” student, and access to nature + a whole new lifestyle/academic experience would do me a lot of good, and hopefully, help me grow into myself.

Congratulations on your decision, @laracroft12. Wishing you the best of luck at CC!

Congratulations ! You will love Colorado !
The individual attention and smaller class sizes at Colorado College means you will receive a lot of mentoring. Denver is close by and many younger people are moving to that city and thus it’s been growing. Old Colorado City is a cute area just west of Colorado Springs, to explore. Winter weather is sunny and your will find plenty of outdoor adventures.
