Emory vs UF

It’s not rude at all, but I don’t think you are familiar with UF’s actual placement rates for these programs.

Use LinkedIn, search for Emory and UF. Select Alumni and then select Finance for the area of study. Look at the numbers yourself. UF finance grads work at the same companies, there just more of them, a lot more.

You can do the same with Accounting, but don’t waste your time, Emory isn’t comparable to UF. UF has one of the top 10 programs in the country, and it’s placement rates reflect that ranking.

Now, its’ a completely different case with Emory’s Economics grads, where Emory excels but UF doesn’t.

If you’re working at PwC, EY or Deloitte, an Emory grad is likely an economics major, while an UF grad is likely an accounting or finance major.

On a side note, a bit more than 38% of Emory’s Alumni live and work in the greater Atlanta area. For me that was surprising, since the vast majority of Emory students are OOS. If you want to live and work in Atlanta (the CDC is a major employer), then Emory and it’s alumni network would be a huge plus. Outside of Atlanta, it’s not nearly as strong (you’ll find a lot more Gator’s in NY, Boston, Washington, SF, Seattle, Dallas, etc.).
