Which would you choose and why? I'm looking into biology, psychology, or even pre-med track.

Haha…I’m on the same boat. Most people I asked told me to go with the best FA package…

I agree with Linnus.

However, if you have the money or get similar FA offers, go with Emory for its size and better prestige/academics.

I’m on a boat too.

Is it just me or are y’all also getting a lot of negativity about Emory? Maybe it’s because I live right next to Emory, but so many ppl have told me that UNC is definitely the better choice. Personally, I’m not really into school spirit and football, but I do care about basketball and soccer.

If you care about basketball and soccer, UNC-CH seems like the obvious choice.

Tough call. Med schools (almost) only care about gpa + mcats, with appropriate ECs a distant third. A’s will probably be easier to come by at any state public, but Emory might better prepare you for the MCAT. Plus, at Emory it would likely be easier to obtain appropriate research (unless you are a UNC scholar or some sort).

Emory’s premed >> UNC’s. But if you got a significant cash difference at Emory versus UNC…

i live in md so it’s way harder to get into chapel hill from here than instate which might be what influences this but: here chapel hill is regarded as better, i have a lot of friends who got rejected there and into emory. Personally, i don’t know anything about unc and think emory is great, but it may be less-recognized

^yea…people get rejected from Berkeley but get into Harvard, Princeton, MIT etc, does that mean Berkeley is better?

i didnt say it was better im saying where i live it is regarded as more prestigious, from what i know i think emory is great
