Emory

I have applied early decision to Emory.

I attend one of the most prestigious and competitive private schools in my state, and we have a good reputation for academic excellence (my college admissions counselors say we grade deflate). My school also does not rank.

Honors:

Writing:
My essays are all very good, I have received excellent help during the writing process - one of the benefits of attending a small private school with an awesome college counseling office, I guess

My high school and Emory:
50% of students who ED Emory from my school get in.
The average accepted weighted GPA is a 3.7, a 30 ACT, and a 1300/1600 (just math and writing) or 2050/2400 SAT

So... what do you guys think my chances are?

50% chance.

I’m no expert but it looks good, exceptional extracurricular especially

High match!

If the GPA is affected by grade deflation, then you sure do have a very great chance of getting accepted to Emory. You have all the right things. I thing that could have held you back that we do not know of might be your essays, but with the way the rest of your application seems, I am sure you rocked those essays!

Could you please chance me back? Thank you!

I think you have great chances on being admitted to Emory. Your GPA is a little low however it shows that you were willing to sacrifice a couple A’s to challenge yourself in advanced courses and the admissions officers will take note of that. You sound very well rounded and you have listed excellent noteworthy E.C’s.
