Emphasis of Training

<p>Hello all! I’m a rising junior and prospective musical theater major. Because I’m a Florida resident and the economy is in ruins, I’m trying to investigate all in-state musical theater options (you know, for Bright Futures and whatnot). It’s not an end-all-be-all factor (especially if financial aid is involved), but it’s very important to me to attend an acting-based program, and I was wondering if any musical theater students or parents had an opinion on the emphasis of training at UM? Is the BFA program acting-based or more music-based?</p>

<p>U of Miami’s MT program is indeed acting-based. My daughter does not attend U Miami but she was accepted there and we do go see the school and she shadowed classes etc. Great school and an excellent option for you to consider. Good luck!</p>
