employer recs

Will colleges take the time to look at additional recs, and can you just send thema copy by mail or are most schools as strict with these as they are with normal teacher recs (like sign envelope etc.)?

bump............................

interested too...

bump again....

please wait more than 6 hours to bump.

Thank you.

almost 12 hrs... bump

interested too...

I'm sorry I'm bumping so much, but I'd really like to know because I just finished an internship and would really like to know if anyone has had any experiences with supervisor recs. Most schools don't say anything about them.

I know a friend who had an internship with Merill-Lynch, and her advisor was absolutely in love with her short of actually loving her. The advisor voluntarily wrote a rec, but even with that she ended up at Skidmore. Low SAT scores :(.

So the rec won't push you over the top, or anywhere. But it might be useful when you're looking for a job, if the internship and the job are related.

well i did a lot of programming for them.... iono if it's worth sending it. I know it'll be a great rec, but I feel like they don't really look at the extra ones.

One extra rec doesnt hurt, but colleges/universities do NOT want to see 10 in your folder. It can be a turn off and actually hurt you. But one or two additional is acceptable ONLY IF you think it will seriously help the college you are applying to understand you better. Just make sure it isnt repeating what your required recs already say about you.

suggest you post in parents forum...lots of experienced readers there on this type of stuff..i would say one extra is okay, not 10...ditto flgirl04

I would definitely send ONE if you feel it will be outstanding. It may not help, but it certainly can't hurt.

BTW, have we met before?;)

weird.... I bow down to vonnegut for creating moments like this :).
