EMT a PLUS for college ?

Many of my friends send theirs high school kids to local first aid squad for Emergency Medical Training. They gain the credit and do the volunteer.
Some told me it's a plus for college admission and you can get a intern job at hospital when you are in medical school.

Is anyone has experience about EMT during their high school year?

its a plus in many many ways, the college thing is just an extra bonus

I think it would be a big plus. But if someone does it just for college apps, I think that's pretty sad.

I agree with CGM: Big plus for anyone. Would particularly be impressive for students considering careers in medical fields.

I also agree with jocan: Sad if the only reason is for college.

Along these same lines (sorry to hijack), would being CPR certified and taking classes on it be a worthy EC to put on an APP.

CPR certification may or may not be an OK (not great) EC to put down. Some states require students to become CPR certified in high school. In such instances, being CPR certified wouldn't mean much.

Now, if you organized a CPR certification class for a club, that would be more impressive than simply taking it yourself.

No, we are not doing it just for college EC.
We think it's great chance for everybody to learn something that can help others and maybe his own family or friends.

Is EMT difficult for junior?
