EMT... is it worth it?

Hello everyone, my school just created a 2-period EMT class for next year. I'll most likely take it, but I have a couple of questions...

1) Is it possible to work as an EMT while enrolled at a top-tier university, full-time?

2) This year, I'm on our schools (again, new) Emergency Response Team, where we learn first-aid, incident command, and other disaster stuff. Next year, I'll do the EMT program. Put together, would this help in college admissions?

It is very difficult to work full-time and study full-time period. However, with a strong employable skill (like an EMT) you will be able to get paid part-time work than the average college student. If you preferred to work full-time and study part-time, you would be able to do that. Frankly, I don’t see any downside to completing the EMT.
