I'm trying to learn as much about this school as I can. Thanks!

I visited this past April- beautiful campus, literally surrounded by 3 beaches. The campus seemed very student friendly which was a plus, also only a quick train ride away from Boston- great location.

The only negative that I have heard about EC is that it's not that competitive academically, but I still have it pretty high on my list.

If you have any more questions I can try my best to answer them...
I would definitely recommend visiting the campus so you can get a feel for it.

Endicott is definitely beautiful. It feels kind of upper-class because of the area it's in, but it is an absolutely gorgeous campus. I don't know too much about the programs, but my aunt is trying to convince me to go there to be near her house in Marblehead.

Did anyone end up at Endicott? It is one of my son’s top choices. Any information would be appreciated.

We visited Endicott early this summer because we happened to be in the area and my wife and I were intrigued by the location and by the adaptive use of several North Shore estates that were incorporated into the college (we formerly worked in the historic preservation field). My younger daughter, who is still a year or so removed from the college search process, fell in love with the campus. She has always loved Boston, but doesn’t want to go to college in the city so she was thrilled to see an MBTA stop nearby. She was also excited to find out that the school offers two of her possible majors.

That said, we also wonder if the school is academically rigorous enough. I’ve also heard mixed opinions on the level of financial aid provided. I guess we have plenty of time to figure this out, however. I’ll be interested in hearing what your son decides MaryAnn.

hudsonvalley51- I’ll keep you posted. I hope to get more feedback about Endicott. My son’s other top choices are Stonehill and Marist.

We hope to visit Stonehill and Marist this weekend and next…any thoughts on your visits with them (if you did?)
Endicott wasn’t on our radar, but I will give it a look…neither was Drew 4 years ago and my son fell in love with it.

We visited both Stonehill and Marist. My S was very impressed with both campuses, the students are friendly and the academics appear to be strong at both colleges. My S is deciding between biology and business. Let me know how your visits go. We are going to visit St. Joe’s in PA this weekend.

Endicott seems to be a perfect fit for my S because they have mandatory internships starting in freshmen year. The students do a three week internship in the 1st and 2nd year and then one semester in junior year. I am hoping the internship program helps him decide on his major. The campus in beautiful (3 beaches) and only 20 miles from Boston.

Here’s a couple of other Endicott College tidbits we picked up on:

Admissions accepts approximately 48% of the students who apply. The middle 50% SAT range (Math and Critical Reading) of accepted students is 1000 – 1160. For those who have financial aid concerns, Endicott meets only 58% of need on average, and the average student emerges from Endicott somewhere between $16,000 and $27,000 in debt. YES, that is a pretty wide range! But the sources I looked at widely varied in reported average student debt. My advice – check with Endicott’s financial aid office.

Parents of a certain age – especially male parents – may not be familiar with Endicott, in part, because it was a women’s college until 1994. Since that time the gender balance has settled into a ratio very common at liberal arts colleges: currently 60% female and 40% male.

Maryann,We also are looking at St. Joe’s. We live in Ct and don’t have the time to go to PA yet, but plan too either in the Fall or early Spring. I’d be interested to you how you like it.
I have a D that is interested in Science and one in History and Business…

Debruns - Did you visit Endicott, Marist and Stonehill? My son applied to all three. He decided against applying to St. Joe’s.

Maryann, we visited Marist and Stonehill, my girls liked Stonehill a little better than Marist (just a feel from the campus/students for them) We, because of our work schedules and then my 12 year old van died, put off St. Joe’s until the late winter/early spring.
One daughter is interested in seeing Bryn Mawr as a reach and we can see both.

What didn’t he like about St Joe’s, neighborhood, feel,?

S was not comfortable with the neighborhood. He is waiting to hear from Endicott, Marist and Stonehill. He also applied to Providence.

Same here, except for Endicott, couldn’t visit there either. Good luck, hope to hear good news later on.
I heard parts of the campus were in good areas, some bad. I live near Yale, so I’m used to the lines being blurred, we will see how they feel when we go.
