Endicott?

Can anybody tell me what they think of this college? I came across it doing early research for my S.

The campus looks beautiful and it seems fairly sporty which he wants. So far he hasn't decided where in the US he wants to go and this seemed like a potentially nice choice for a young man with under a 3.5 If any one of you know about it first hand that would be great.

Thank you!

I don’t really know anything about the school, but a quick search brought up these threads:

Endicott used to be all female. It was an upper-crust kind of place…but not at the acadademic level of the 7 Sisters. It’s a very different place today, but, unfortunately, I don’t know anything about the academics there now.

The campus is situated in an absolutely magnificent spot with some spectacular old buildings.

My next door neighbors daughter goes to Endicott and has been relatively happy…she thinks it is “too small”. She was not a great student in HS (about a 2.5 GPA) and did poorly on her SAT’s (around 1000) so I do not think it is a very challenging academic program. The campus is beautiful though.

Thank you very much. It’s nice of you to provide information. Jilliebean do you know what your neighbor’s D is majoring in? I saw that admissions were not so selective and to be honest that is one of the reasons it caught my eye.

My S visited over the summer and loved the campus. Only 20 minutes from Boston and three beaches. For my S it would be a perfect fit. I do have some concerns about it being “too small”.

In general, you will find the 3.0-3.3 GPA and B+ students threads on the Parents Forum a treasure trove of information.

Best of luck

My son considered Endicott and we did visit the campus. Selectivity seems to vary greatly by major. He was looking at the Sport Management program which was very competitive at that time. The coach for his sport was pretty rude so it was crossed off our list (it wasn’t just us, he was rude to several other prospective recruits and was gone after that season). The food was really bad which was also a factor for my son  We know students who have loved the college while others have transferred out. One young lady we know felt the other girls were just too snobby. My son’s team played against them at Endicott and they did have a good (but not great) student turnout for the game.

Yes, our neighbors D is a Communications (marketing, I think) major.
