Ending mid-sentence on the essay

So I had a stupid proctor on the June 3 exam and as an indirect result of that I ended mid-sentence. It would have been the 3rd or 4th sentence of my conclusion paragraph, and I only had around 2 more lines left on the paper.

I wrote "Technology is what we make of it" or something like that, and was going to include a second phrase with a semicolon, but ran out of time. It would have worked too if I just put a period.

So is it a big deduction? I know graders are told not to penalize you for not having a conclusion (even though I did have a conclusion, just ran out of time for the period), but...

Don't worry ... you won't be the first that that has happened to. My son ended mid-sentence on his essay that he took in January and he got an 11.

not that big a deal

I ended mid-sentence when I took it in MAy....11, so don't worry

They really only grade what you have written.

Or you could not be a tool, and could just finish up...

I would have put a period, but the proctor was ****ing ridiculous. He was asking everybody to put their water and snacks on a different table and stuff, and I had already gotten on bad terms with him because I argued with him about the stupid drinks. The admission ticket says 'food and drink can be stowed under your desk', and I only got like 3 hours of sleep the night before. I NEEDED my coffee to chug during the 30 seconds we had between sections.

Anyway he would have spotted me and disqualified me, for sure.

It's good to hear that you can get good grades ending mid sentence. I got a 12 the first time around and felt that this was a better essay, save the last few words, and it would suck to be significantly lowered because of that.

<- That was my essay (ended mid-sentence) - still got an 11 :)

yeah i ended mine in mid-sentence, just crossed it out real fast...

I ended mine in mid sentence but I went back when I was done with a section and wrote 2 words more and put a period

my conclusion was only 1 sentence :) but I'm not too worried, I think that if the body of the essay was well constructed then having a crappy conclusion wouldn't really effect it A LOT

Yeah, they're grading the quality of what you have more than anything else, so even if you're conclusion's short or even nonexistant, as long as the rest of your writing is of high quality you don't have much to worry about.
