enforced requisite: what if you fail?

If a course B has an enforced requisite of course A, and you fail course A, can you take course B in the following quarter?
(assuming you will retake course A in the summer or some other time)
If the answer is no and you need a passing grade for the next level course, does D count?
Or does it have to be a C and above?

what ended up happenning? were u able to enroll in that class? did anyone find out, like where there any negative consequences? im in the same dilema =(

Does anyone know the answer to this? What happened to you wishnote107 and bruin7777?

I’m in the same boat. Were there any consequences?

C- is normally is what’s considered passing. (Though it’s NP, if it’s pass/no pass…) Sometimes, the course will specifiy you need a C though. You just need to have passed the course before the next class starts…

I don’t know anyone who’s tried to enroll in the next course with a D though… So I don’t know what actually happens. Try calling Murphy Hall.

I suppose you could also beg to have it waived by someone… Though I doubt you’ll find those who are sympathetic to let you move on in the administration and staff.

URSA won’t stop you from enrolling as far as I know, but depending on the class, the professor might work to have you un-enrolled (or might not, depends on the class). I know someone who took a language class (maybe level 3) after performing poorly in the one before it. The professor emailed the department to have him dropped.

Along similar lines, I took Math 3C after Math 31B even though URSA said that I had not met the pre-requisites (which in the URSA system was only Math 3B) on a warning screen. I still enrolled with no problem.
