eng 102 or 103? fullerton college

Everyone has told me , it is normal to take 103 (Critical reasoning and writing)

when I am transferring to UC ,

but when i looked up in assist.org

some of majors like engineering

require

eng 102 (Introduction to literature) instead of 103 .

so I am confused. can either one fulfill english requirement (2 sem)

for UC ? and engineering majors have to take 102 instead of 103???

I went to FJC and took 103 because I was more interested in writing argumentative papers using critical thinking as opposed to responding to literature.

But either class (102 or 103) fulfills the requirement.

Do you intend to become an engineering major? Then follow assist and take 102.

At my college, the numbers of the classes were irrelevant. Every english teacher did whatever the hell they wanted regardless of the description of the class they were supposed to be teaching.

103 is normal (I went to fullerton college). Just go to assist.org to validate if it's a required prerequisite. Also, make sure you ask the transfer counselor at the Cadena Transfer center if the courses you take will transfer over. I've heard some students taking classes, but then Assist.org updated its requirements, making those classes somewhat useless. Also, you should speak with an academic counselor to plan out which classes you should take in order to transfer.

Karen Nguyen is the honors counselor. She's extremely helpful. Love her!

thank you for the advices :)
Ill go talk to counselor at Cadena .
